The annual Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Camp (IYEC) was held July 20鈥�24, 2026, marking the Indigenous Business and Public Administration Program鈥檚 (IBPA) 16th successful year hosting the camp at the Regina Campus.

Since it started in 2009, about 250 Indigenous youth have attended the camp. One of the main objectives of this camp is to spark Indigenous youth’s interest in post-secondary education and business and to build participants’ confidence in themselves and their future aspirations.

This year, 25 Indigenous youth attended and successfully completed the camp. The majority of students were between the ages of 15 and 18. Twenty-three participants came from various regions in Saskatchewan, and two joined from Manitoba.

During the camp, students engaged in classroom sessions centered on entrepreneurship and business topics. Multiple Indigenous entrepreneurs gave presentations throughout the week. In the evenings, students visited local businesses and took part in team-building activities. They also had leisure time to explore the university campus, dine at the Luther cafeteria, and stay in the K墨拧ik Tower dorms.

The week wrapped up with a luncheon and student presentations. Over several days, student teams created business plans for a fictional business they chose. Once finished, they presented their plans to advisors, sponsors, and IYEC coordinators present. Awards and prizes were given to top groups and individuals. Overall, the Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Camp was a success! We are excited to host a new cohort of youth entrepreneurs in 2027!
